Event Details
This fall, Salt & Light Theatre for the Performing Arts, is
excited to present the hilarious Broadway comedy of “Arsenic & Old
Lace“ directed by Pastor Ryan Brosious on October 30 – November 1.
“Arsenic & Old Lace” revolves around drama critic Mortimer
Brewster, whose engagement announcement is upended when he discovers a corpse
in his elderly aunts’ window seat. Mortimer rushes to tell Abby and Martha
before they stumble upon the body themselves, only to learn that the two old women
aren’t just aware of the dead man in their parlor, they killed him! Between his
aunts’ penchant for poisoning wine, a brother who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt,
and another brother using plastic surgery to hide from the police—not to
mention Mortimer’s own hesitancy about marriage—it’ll be a miracle if Mortimer
makes it to his wedding.
Originally written by Joseph Kesselring for the stage, audiences may best know
this show by the classic film starring Cary Grant and directed by Frank Capra.
“Arsenic and Old Lace” is a classic dark comedy about the only thing
more deadly than poison: family.

Dr. Jobe Martin will be featured in a 4 week video series based on his autobiography, ‘Evolution of a Creationist’. Dr. Martin received degrees from Bucknell University and the University of Pittsburgh. While teaching at Baylor College of Dentistry 2 students challenged him to consider the evidence for Creation. He didn’t know there was any scientific evidence for Creation and began a 5 year journey that led him to conclude the scientific evidence supports the Biblical account of Creation. The sessions will be held on Sundays, November 9, 16, 23, and 30, from 9:30 to 10:30am at the New Hope Bible Church at 310 Raven Lane in Mifflinburg. When lives intertwine during Christmas, hope is the
only unifying gift. After suffering a personal tragedy, a social worker throws
herself into finding homes for children in need. It’s through the love of one
little girl that the lives of many are brought together during what turns out
to be a most joyful time of the year.

Night to Shine is a world-wide prom night experience for people with special needs. The event, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation aims to celebrate the worth and value of every individual as a king or queen in God’s eyes.
This is Mifflin County’s first Night to Shine event and we need volunteers to register before 12/5/2025. Our biggest need for volunteers is Buddies, which will accompany one of our honored guests for the evening.
