WGRC Staff- Scott

Scott is a native of McVeytown in Mifflin County. He grew up on the family farm where he stills lives today with his wife and 2 daughters. He also has 2 adult children and 4 grandkids. Scott enjoys the country life and all it has to offer but especially the challenge of fixing tractors, motorcycles, atvs, cars or most anything with an engine.

After high school Scott worked at the family-owned feed store until it closed in 2004. After a brief job in retail, he landed in radio sales at a cluster of local stations where he worked for 13 years until God opened the door at WGRC. “Looking back over the years I can now see how the Lord was training me for my position at WGRC through work experience and personal trials. It was all in His perfect timing.”

He accepted Jesus as his personal savior at 12 years old and has always had a desire to serve Him from that time. Although there was a “prodigal son” period in his life Scott returned with a greater desire to serve using the gifts God gave him. He has a passion for leading small groups, and seeing lives transformed when Biblical teaching and principles are applied. Scott currently serves as an adult Sunday School teacher and deacon at Centre Union Church, where he and his family have attended for the past 10 years.

“One of my favorite portions of scripture is Isaiah 40:30-31 which encourages me to be patient, have faith, and lean on Jesus for strength to carry out any task He sets before me. I walked into my office the first day at WGRC and there in window hung a sign with that scripture. I knew I was home.”

Isaiah 40.31  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
