Buffalo Valley Brethren Fellowship, located at 46 Brethren Church Road, Mifflinburg, will be hosting a 13-week GriefShare support group starting September 1, 2026 at 6:30 pm. A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place to learn about and discuss the difficult emotions of grief. Join the City of Harrisburg for the 110th annual Kipona Festival on September 5-7, 2026. The 3-day event will feature a Family Fun Zone, Multicultural Celebration, live music, Art in the Park, food trucks, beer/wine garden, a Giant Puppet Parade, Keystone Dock Dogs competition, and more.

Walking Free Clubhouse is hosting its 3rd Annual Recovery Walk and Car Show. This is a community event to promote the education and awareness surrounding addiction and recovery. This year the walk is bigger. First, there will be three bands performing including Becky Blue Band, Big Band Wolf, and Wander No More. For the fundraising part, there will be a mile walk that is $15 if you preregister and $20 the day of and each registered walker gets a free t-shirt. There is also a car show with a fee of $15 if you preregister and $20 to register the day of. It is easy to preregister either use QR code or go to website www.walkingfreeclubhouse.com. In addition, there will be resource tables, a butterfly release, kid’s games and face painting, food, and a guest speaker in Judge Piecuch and three other speakers two who live with addiction and one family member. The event is free to attend. Come out and enjoy the day together because Together We Can Recover.

Kingdom Kidz, Inc. will be presenting a program at the Lutheran Evangelical Church, Main & 4th St. Watsontown at 10:30am for their rally day.

For those interested in learning the art of puppetry, training will be held each Sunday Evening beginning September 13 from 6-8 pm at the Puppet Home in the Julie M. Holmes Creative Arts Center, 11 E. 3rd St, Watsontown.  Any child 10 years or older is invited to participate in puppetry, prop presentation and dowel rod movement.

United Church of Christ will hold its Fall Rummage, Soup, and Bake Sale on September
17 and 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 19, 9:00
a.m. – noon. Saturday is Bag Day – fill a garbage bag for $5.00. Outside
sales of larger items run all week beginning on Monday, September 14. All
proceeds from the sale are given away to support our neighbors in need in the

Anchored: The Pilgrim Story is a ballet inspired by the courageous journey of the pilgrims. Fleeing the oppression of Europe, this group of believers followed God’s leading to cross the Atlantic in search of a home where they could be free. As most paths of life are difficult, their voyage was no different. Obstacles, pain, and even death accompanied the journey, but their faith in the sovereignty and goodness of the Lord helped them persevere and ultimately laid the foundation of the United States of America, the land of the free. 

Hosted by Crossroads Nazarene Church, this event featuring stunning choreography with a powerful message will be memorable for theatregoers and dancers alike! Tickets are available online and at the door before the performance.
