Official Rules
Contest Period: October 3 through December 13, 2026
Eligibility
- The contest is open to individuals who legally harvest a buck in Pennsylvania during the contest period.
- The entrant must be the hunter who legally harvested the buck. A person may not enter a buck harvested by another individual.
- Each hunter is limited to one entry, regardless of how many bucks the hunter may legally harvest during the contest period.
- Minors may participate. A parent or legal guardian must submit the entry on behalf of a minor, and the minor must be the hunter who legally harvested the buck.
- WGRC employees, their spouses, parents, children, siblings, and members of their immediate household are not eligible to win.
How to Enter
- Take a selfie showing the hunter and the legally harvested 2026 Pennsylvania buck. For a minor entrant, a parent or legal guardian may take and submit the photo.
- Post the photo in the comments of the official 2026 WGRC Big Buck Contest post on the WGRC Facebook page.
- Entries must be posted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2026. Entries submitted elsewhere or after the deadline are not eligible.
- No purchase or donation is necessary to enter.
Harvest and Photo Requirements
- The buck must have been legally harvested in Pennsylvania between October 3 and December 13, 2026, in compliance with all applicable Pennsylvania Game Commission laws and regulations, including licensing, tagging, reporting, season, method, and location requirements.
- WGRC may request reasonable verification of the harvest and the hunter’s eligibility before awarding the prize. Failure to provide requested verification may result in disqualification.
- Submitted photos must accurately depict the hunter and the buck entered. Photos may not be materially altered, digitally manipulated, AI-generated, or otherwise misleading.
- Photos must be appropriate for WGRC’s Facebook audience. WGRC may reject photos that are excessively graphic, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate for its platforms.
- WGRC reserves the right to disqualify an entry that, in WGRC’s reasonable judgment, violates the letter or intent of these rules.
Winner and Prize
- One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries. Antler size, number of points, spread, weight, or other characteristics of the buck have no bearing on the drawing.
- The winner will be announced on Monday, December 14, 2026.
- The winner will receive a $100 gift card from D&R Firearms and Archery in Belleville. The gift card has no cash alternative and is subject to any applicable terms or restrictions of the sponsor.
- WGRC will make a reasonable effort to contact the selected winner. If the winner cannot be contacted, does not claim the prize within 14 days of WGRC’s first contact attempt, or is determined to be ineligible, WGRC may select another winner at random.
Use of Submitted Photos
- By entering, the entrant—or the parent or legal guardian of a minor entrant—grants WGRC permission to use the submitted photo and the entrant’s name in connection with the Big Buck Contest, including on WGRC’s website, social media, on-air promotion, and other contest-related promotional materials, without additional compensation.
General Conditions
- By participating, entrants agree to these official rules and to WGRC’s decisions concerning eligibility, administration, and interpretation of the contest. WGRC’s decisions are final.
- WGRC is not responsible for lost, deleted, incomplete, late, or inaccessible entries; Facebook privacy settings; internet or technical problems; or other circumstances beyond WGRC’s reasonable control.
- WGRC reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest if circumstances beyond its reasonable control affect the fairness, integrity, or administration of the contest.
- By participating and accepting a prize, entrants agree to release WGRC and the contest sponsor from claims arising from participation in the contest or acceptance or use of the prize, except where prohibited by law.
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook. Entrants release Facebook from responsibility related to the promotion.
