Producer Steve (Steve Clements) Started at WGRC as a listener in 2016. Then he was led to become a volunteer in early 2022. After a short time as a volunteer Steve looked into becoming a staff member as a sound board operator/ producer for WGRC’S broadcast of local high football games. Having no radio experience or sound board operation experience Steve looked to God and the staff at WGRC for the direction and was happy to join the Staff in August of 2022.
Steve’s path to knowing the grace of God started out very slow. He grew up not properly knowing God but all that changed in 2016 when he met his now wife Wendy. Steve owes the path that he now follows to the working of God through Wendy. Steve and Wendy live in the area and enjoy going to many WGRC events together.
In 2023 Steve’s role at the station grew and he started working with the morning show one day a week to learn more and gain experience. He also became a regular face at Skate Night. He doesn’t skate but enjoys the connection with the listeners.
Steve is enjoying his growth at the station but mostly in his Christian walk. In 2024 Steve started filling in on air when the announcers were on vacation. He also picked up an on air shift from 3pm – 7pm on Sundays and some other behind the scenes functions.
Favorite verse: Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live,but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
This verse is a daily reminder of the help that God has for me. He gave me his spirit because of the faith I have in the cross. I am no longer in Adam but I am in Christ.
