This past Spring, I put out a Bluebird box and feeder. A few days later, I saw a pair of Bluebirds busily entering and exiting the box! I see the male Bluebird dutifully and faithfully tend to the female sitting on the nest, providing the things she needs as she sits on those eggs waiting for them to hatch. When we peeked in recently through the entrance hole, the momma was sitting on the nest. It was truly a touching experience. I think about how those birds are really a lesson to me of the faithfulness of my Heavenly Father.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” He provides for all our needs, not necessarily our “wants”. We are so blessed to have a Father who “will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19)
Just like that little Bluebird who was providing for his mate who was sitting on the nest, our Father God is taking care of us, only more so! He loves us so much more than the birds and He promises to take care of us! As you proceed through your day, may the Lord remind you even in small ways, that He is taking care of you!
