It’s no secret that I love to cook. While other people may enjoy a trip to the mall or other stores to shop, I would rather go to the grocery store to get the ingredients for whatever meal I am planning next! Once I get home, I can’t wait to fire up the oven or grill and get started on my culinary creation! As I take each ingredient and mix them together with others to make the finished product, sometimes I think of how God uses different “ingredients” to shape and form me into the “finished product” He intends for me to be. When we feast at the Lord’s table, we will never be hungry.
The Bible is full of mentions of having a meal together. It seems that fellowship with friends and food is very important! It’s also a great way to get to know folks a little better and connect with them!
“When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, ‘Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.’ So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast’ “. (John 21:9-11)
When we spend quiet time with the Lord, we are feasting on His goodness and the spiritual food of His Word. As you get into His Word, He will fill you with the Bread of Life that only God alone can give. You will be completely satisfied. “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.” John 6:27
So eat up!
