Let The Redeemed Stand Tall by Dave Jones
You’ve seen it before. You may have even experienced it. I know I have. I have walked around with that defeated posture; head hung low, shoulders drooped, and a sluggish gait. Something didn’t go my way, and I felt worthless, useless, no good. Scripture tells us in John 10:10 that the thief comes to “steal”, “kill”, and “destroy”. Knowing that the thief, the enemy, is none other than Satan himself, can make us feel defeated, hopeless, and helpless to stand against such a power. In our own power, these would be proper feelings to hold on to. During my times of lowliness, inevitably, someone has encouraged me to hold my head up, and to stand tall. Did you know that God says the same thing? Looking in Psalm 107: 1-2, we are told to “give thanks”. We are told that God is “good” and “merciful”. We are told that He has “redeemed” us “from the hand of the enemy”! This is good news! As we find ourselves in the midst of the Christmas season, let us ponder these thoughts. The angels shared the good news of a newborn babe, who would save the world (Luke 2). We focus on the cute, innocent, little baby during this time of year. We sometimes fail to realize the mission that this baby was on. He was born to lift us up. He was born to pay the penalty for our sins. He was born to give us victory. He was born to give us eternal life. When we give thanks to God, embracing His unconditional goodness and mercy, we are able to stand tall as His children and proclaim victory. No longer is there a need or reason to feel defeated. The victory has already been won. |

Call To Action
Christmas is to be a season of joy; a joyous celebration of what God has done, through the gift of His son. As you hear the “Message In The Music” on WGRC, we want you to experience that joy, and victory over the enemy. Whatever has you feeling down and defeated, turn it over to God above, the Victor. Allow Him to work in and through you. Embrace who you are as a child of the King, and you will find the strength to stand tall. |
