Day 6: Strength in Numbers
By: Dave Jones, Morning Show Co-Host/Host of ‘Get Real’
For five days now we have discussed partnering in ministry. We have looked at Philippians 1:4-5 as our inspiration. Now we must put action to our thoughts. As we approach our 2017 fundraising event, remember the goal is “partnership in the gospel” (Philippians 1:5). Scripture is a manual for living, not simply a good read. As you read each verse of Scripture, you should be compelled to follow what is written therein. The main thread that runs the entirety of God’s Word, is the thread of redemption or the Gospel.
Over the years WGRC has been able to partner with several ministries because of your support. This year we will partner with CRU and their college-based ministries. It is so important to reach and encourage college students with the Gospel of Christ. These college students will soon be the business owners, the lawmakers, and the professionals we interact with every day. It is vital that we send them out into the world with a biblical foundation.
Think of a farmer’s field. When it is worked, and a crop is planted, there is growth. When that same field is left unattended, weeds overtake it and eventually no one will even know that crops once grew there. Without intentionally sharing the Gospel with college students the weeds of life will overtake them and remove any resemblance to a walk with Christ. We have a job to do.
I Corinthians 3:6 shows us that the spreading of the gospel is a team effort between believers, with God bringing the increase. No one individual or ministry can or should go at it alone. There truly is strength in numbers. When you partner with WGRC you are planting seeds of faith. These seeds grow as others come along and water them. As this growth occurs, lives are changed. These lives plant more seeds and the cycle continues. It all goes back to that seed that was initially planted.
We ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us and plant seeds of faith during our upcoming fundraising event. Not only will you be planting seeds among the many listeners locally and worldwide, but you will also reach college campuses with the Gospel as we partner with CRU to disciple college students in the faith.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You that You have called us all into ministry. May You bless each person who reads/hears these words. May You work in each life and give guidance and direction as to what each person is to do. We know that Your plan for each of our lives is to share Your word. We ask for Your blessing and anointing as we seek to do that. Please bless not only WGRC, but also each WGRC listener, and these college students that will be reached because of a body of believers coming together for the sake of the kingdom. May You be the strength in our numbers. Amen
