Day Four: “A Life of Praise”, by Caryn Rehm
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD.
Psalm 40:3 (NLT)
Growing up, I was privileged to attend a Christian school. When I was in high school, as a part of chapel services, we were encouraged to share “God moments.” We identified what we had experienced God doing in our lives or how we had seen Him at work in the lives of others.
When you are in a constant state of praise, I believe you will have God moments to share. You need to put into practice, your life of praise. Sometimes it’s scary to speak, but it brings glory to God.
Jeremiah 29:13 says “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” We need to search in holy expectancy for God. We need to sit on the edge of our seat, in anticipation of what God will do. This is an act of praise.
Now, this doesn’t come easily to most of us, so we need to be aware. We need to gain understanding and know that God is present in our lives. God is present in life’s battles and the daily mess. God is present in the victories and good times. We need to develop a prayer life where we are seeking God in grace daily and focusing on a personal relationship with Him.
The more you are aware of your need for God’s presence, and the more you draw closer to him in prayer and through daily time spent reading His Word, the better you can learn how to identify those God moments and live a life of praise. He will give you a new song to sing, a hymn of praise. Then many will see what he has done and be amazed. They too, will put their trust in the Lord.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for your grace. Thank you for the freedom you have given us through Christ Jesus. Thank you for the tender way you guide your children. Help us to live a life of praise and seek you wholeheartedly. Enable us to love others well, as we live this life of praise.
Amen
