Day Five: “Many Will See”, by Dave Jones
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD.
Psalm 40:3 (NLT)
There is a quote of debated origin, but not of debated meaning. It states: “Preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words”. As our Growing Together Theme Verse from Psalm 40:3 points out, “many will see.” Many will see what God has done as we live our lives according to the purpose that He has laid out.
Answer this question about yourself when you go to bed at night, “Who has been brought closer to the Kingdom because they met me today?”. The answer to this question is the name of the one who saw God because of you. If you cannot answer this question, then you have to ask yourself if you are where God wants you to be.
Our lives are the greatest source of gospel preaching that there is. For when we are living out the gospel instead of just speaking the gospel, people will see firsthand the work that God has done. Our lives are testimonies to the grace, mercy, and love of Christ. It is from the working of God in our lives that new songs and hymns of praise, as mentioned in our theme verse, come from. These are songs and hymns that we should live out loud.
A favorite song on WGRC is Matthew West’s “Do Something.” Too many times Christians find themselves praying on behalf of others, that God would send someone to meet a need. Too many times Christians fail to see that they are the answer to their own prayer. God has already acted and called the one praying to respond. In the music industry there is a mix of a lot of noise and a lot of true melodious singing. In the Christian walk, which are you?
As we encourage you to LIVE life on a daily basis reaching out to others in need, as the hands and feet of Jesus; will you also join in and sing a melodious song along with WGRC? The harmony that is created when you partner financially with WGRC allows many more to “see” the gospel. As listeners tune in they hear “The Message In The Music” and the real life stories of God’s handiwork in the lives of others. These listeners are who you can say were brought closer to the Kingdom, because of you.
Dear Lord, as You have blessed us, may we seek to bless others. Open our eyes to see those seeking You, so that we may help them to see. Use us as living testimonies to Your grace, love, and mercy. In your name we pray. Amen.
