About John Tibbs
Song Heard On WGRC: Dead Man Walking
Hailing from Paducah, Kentucky, John Tibbs was catapulted into the music industry by an early partnership with Noisetrade. In 2013, John released two EP’s and a single while sharing the stage with such artists as Gungor, Tenth Avenue North and Audrey Assad. In May of 2014, John signed his first major record deal with Fair Trade Services, home to artists such as MercyMe, Newsboys, Phil Wickham, Citizen Way, The Afters and many others.
In the Spring of 2016, John released the full-length, Dead Man Walking , to great critical acclaim. Reviewers said about the album, “with shades of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Creedence Clearwater Revival, the heartland rock Tibbs traffics in is just right for the weightier, darker side of the redemption story.”
Coming off the heels of a nationwide tour with Newsboys in 2015 and Matt Maher in 2016, Tibbs is excited to bring a unique live show to both new and familiar places. ‘My hope is that I can create music that connects people to Jesus – both Christians and those who may not identify with Christianity. I want to make music that moves people, and I hope that it honors God.’ John currently resides in Nashville with his wife, Emily and their dog, Lady.
