Change – that is a really packed word. Change can be positive or negative. Usually I am not a fan of this word, unless it’s winter turning into spring. I will be the first to admit I am not a fan of cold weather. However, I love when the leaves begin to change colors and my everyday drive begins to have a new look to it. Just one of God’s ways of marking a time for a season to end and a new one to begin.
Recently I learned about some changes taking place in the life of my family. Some of these changes are exceptionally great news and the other, well lets just say not my most favorite news in the world. All this news came with lots of unknowns. Of course all kinds of questions came up in my mind and images of what might happen or what this change could look like. Some of those thoughts brought a huge smile to my face and then on the other hand, a slight fear in the heart of this mom. I had to take a moment to step back and reflect, that perhaps this would be a great opportunity of even more growth and for God to do something truly amazing.
In both of these situations God is changing me and those around me into something different and that can be a wonderful thing. I may not know what’s ahead in the seasons to come, but I know who I can trust to lead me around the unknown corner.
Call To Action
Two questions I ask myself when I am feeling overwhelmed by the unknown.
Q: What am I really afraid of?
Q: What does God have to say about fear? A: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
This acronym is a go-to reminder for me those fearful moments.
F – False
E – Evidence
A – Appearing
R – Real
