Weeknight & Weekend Announcer & Traffic/Office Assistant
Caryn works as an announcer and traffic/office assistant for WGRC. She brings you encouragement, 7-10PM Monday to Friday, 8AM-12PM on Saturdays, and 8AM-1PM on Sundays. Caryn also manages our social media pages (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube.)
Caryn holds a bachelor’s degree in media communication and theatre from Indiana Wesleyan University. Since graduating, she has had the opportunity to work in television and radio and volunteer in theatre. Caryn came to WGRC (post college) as a part time staffer, left for a nannying job in Ireland, came back to the U.S. to work for the television station, SECV-8, as News Co-Anchor, and finally returned to WGRC in August of 2015. In between that time Caryn served as a teacher’s aide and substitute teacher for Meadowbrook Christian School. She also served as the volunteer drama coach, for CWC Theatre Productions for a few years.
She enjoys playing basketball and singing any chance she gets. One thing Caryn would love to do is “go on tour.” Her favorite thing about working for WGRC is the opportunity to serve God and serve people in the community.
I remember God always being a part of my heritage, generations of believers, for which I am grateful and completely blessed. My mother led me to Christ at the young age of four. I remember kneeling next to my bed with her leading me in the prayer of salvation. I grew up in a Christian household, but it wasn’t until I was sixteen that I publically declared my faith in Christ Jesus by being baptized on my sixteenth birthday. It was a tremendous moment. I was privileged to attend a university where Christ was the central focus. I am still growing; I don’t think we ever stop! God has taught me so much over the past decade and I am striving to keep my eyes focused on Him as He leads me forth.
